African Perspectives of Research in Teaching and Learning (APoRTAL) is an international, double-blind peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to advancing research, scholarship and innovation in teaching and learning in higher education, with particular emphasis on African contexts and perspectives.

The journal publishes original research articles, systematic reviews, theoretical papers, scholarly reflections, and evidence-informed practice that contribute to improving teaching, learning, student success, curriculum transformation, and academic development within universities, universities of technology, and other higher education institutions.

APoRTAL welcomes contributions from all academic disciplines, provided they address questions related to teaching, learning, assessment, curriculum, or the higher education student experience. The journal encourages disciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary scholarship that offers new insights into contemporary challenges and opportunities in higher education.
